Outlands is the first new bottle design from Amouage in fifteen years — and the fragrance inside is equally audacious. Part of The Essences collection, it contains 30% pure perfume oils and underwent a six-month aging process with sandalwood chips and oakwood barrels. It opens with an unexpectedly bright burst of citrus and frankincense before descending into a labyrinthine heart of patchouli, saffron and rose. The base is deep, resinous and long-lasting — oud, amber, labdanum and vanilla settling into skin like something ancient. An invitation to journey into the beyond.
